Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party–A Hauntingly Good Time at Walt Disney World

If you are visiting Walt Disney World during the Halloween season, you are in for a real treat! We can’t talk about Halloween at Walt Disney World without talking about the reason for the season, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Taking place on 34 select nights from August 28th through October 31st, this separately ticketed event takes place at the Magic Kingdom. The party kicks off at 7pm and lasts until midnight. Party ticket holders can enter the park as early at 4pm and the park closes to regular admission ticket-holders at 6pm.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a howling good time and full of family-friendly frights. Here is what’s going on over the next several weeks:

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The Sanderson Sisters are running amuck at the Magic Kingdom and are using their magic to host a wickedly good time! Joining them onstage are notorious Disney villains like Maleficent and Dr. Facilier. The light projections and other effects are wild. The sisters and their nefarious friends conjure up the ultimate Party Potion and cast a spell over the entire Magic Kingdom! This year is the 25th Anniversary of the movie Hocus Pocus, in case you needed another reason to see this spooktacular show.

Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade

Twice a night you can witness the Headless Horseman lead a procession of frightening floats. See Disney characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes, dancing grave diggers, and a whole segment dedicated to the Haunted Mansion. Like the theme of the party, this parade is really not-so-scary and perfect for the whole family.

Happy Hallowishes Fireworks

Join the Ghost Host from the Haunted Mansion as he invites you to “drop in” for this dreadfully good show. This 180-degree pyrotechnic display will not disappoint! Disney Villains try to steal the show with some of their spookiest songs including, “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” from The Little Mermaid, “Oogie Boogie’s Song,” from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” from the Haunted Mansion attraction. Be sure to stake out a spot in front of Cinderalla’s Castle or near the hub grass at least 20-30 minutes prior to showtime for the best viewing experience.

If you don’t feel like using precious party time to wait for the fireworks, consider taking advantage of the Hallowishes Dessert Party. After you enjoy the “bewitching buffet” of entertainment and desserts, a cast member will escort you to a premium viewing location in the Plaza Garden where you will be sure to get a great view of the show.

A Spooky Spin on Classic Rides

This year, a few rides will be getting all dressed up for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The Mad Tea Party has special lighting and spooky effects. Pirates of the Caribbean features “Gunpowder Pete,” a live character performer, and you can even ride Space Mountain with all of the lights off in the pitch dark accompanied by a new soundtrack!

Throughout the park you can find special Halloween-themed treats offered only during the Halloween season.
